I enjoyed working hands-on in applied science research. I received adequate guidance from my mentor and I enjoyed the collaborative atmosphere of the laboratory. It was also very diverse.
What I wish was different
I wish there was a single project I could have focused on since I was assisting with multiple projects. It would have given me some sense of ownership

What I liked
I enjoyed learning more about polymers and how they play a role in optical communication. I had a great collaboration team to work with as well.

I wish I had known more regarding the subject I researched prior to my working experience.
Advice
Research is very different than any other field - you have to be willing to be flexible and move quickly.
