Lindt Chocolate (USA), Inc.

HR Intern

July - August 2023 • Stratham, NH

What I liked

My internship at Lindt was an invaluable learning experience. From my very first day, the company culture stood out to me as one that values teamwork, innovation, and impact, which made me feel welcomed, and supported from the beginning. Despite being at the very beginning stages of my career and among a team of highly skilled HR professionals, my colleagues made me feel like a valued member of the team immediately. Although in the beginning there was a steep learning curve, the team’s guidance, and willingness to help me made this transition an enjoyable experience. I was entrusted with meaningful and significant responsibilities during my internship, allowing me to contribute to team goals and projects. This level of hands-on experience was not only instrumental to my professional development, but also motivating, rewarding, and empowering.

What I wish was different

In all honesty, it is extremely difficult to think of something I wish was different, as my experience was overwhelmingly positive. However, one thing I wish I could have done was a rotational experience of sorts, with a full day shadowing each member of the team to gain insight into their specific role and day-to-day responsibilities. Yet, with the busy and fast-paced nature of HR that I love so much, in combination with the short duration of a summer internship makes spending a full day with each team member extremely challenging to schedule and fit in.

Advice

If I were to give one piece of advice that I have taken away from my internship experience, it would be to not be afraid to ask questions. Being open and curious, displaying eagerness to learn, taking initiative, and seeking feedback, all created opportunities for tremendous growth and development.
