Nuclear Waste Program Coordinator
Keeping Washington Clean and Evergreen
The Department of Ecology is hiring a Nuclear Waste Program Coordinator within the Nuclear Waste Program.
Location:
- Richland Field Office in Richland, WA.
- Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.
Schedule: This position is required to work in the office five days per week and is not eligible for telework.

Duties
As the Program Coordinator for the Nuclear Waste Program, you will be responsible for coordinating with US Department of Energy (USDOE) and staff to receive Hanford Site Clearance badges and Ecology badges. You will also serve as the point of contact for Employee Job Task Analysis.
You will assist with minor facility requests from staff, perform monthly building inspections, and monitor the performance of the janitorial staff. You will be the fleet Coordinator for the program, which includes receiving and filling fleet reservation requests from staff, shuttling vehicles back and forth to auto shops for regular scheduled maintenance, and performing weekly interior and exterior inspections of vehicles.
What you will do:
- Respond to workstation adjustment requests, and either make the adjustments or coordinate with the vendor to make adjustments.
- Set up and break down conference rooms.
- Coordinate fleet reservations.
- Perform vehicle maintenance and inspections.
- Coordinate Hanford Site Clearance badges and Ecology badges.
- Coordinate Hanford required training for staff.
- Monitor janitorial performance and janitorial supplies that need to be ordered.

Required Qualifications:
Two years of experience and/or education as described below:
- Experience in administrative work, event planning, or facility or fleet management.
- Education involving college-level coursework.
Examples of how to qualify:
- 2 years of experience AND High school graduation or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience AND 30-59 semester or 45-89 quarter college credits.
- No prior experience AND 60-89 semester or 90-134 quarter college credits (Associate’s degree or higher).
Special Requirements/Conditions of Employment:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must meet U.S. Department of Energy requirements to acquire and maintain a badge for access to the Hanford Site.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience coordinating and planning events.
- Experience working with administrative procedures within a state or other governmental agency.
- Experience in using Microsoft Office software, including Teams, One Drive, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with web-based on-line collaborative tools such as SharePoint, and Teams.
- Experience working with basic hand tools, such as, electric drill, hammer, hand cart, wrench, and ladder.
- Ability to: work independently; read, understand, and interpret policies and procedures; develop written reports; work effectively with others; communicate effectively, both in writing and speech.
