Entry Level / Staff Engineer – Civil Land Development

We are looking for an individual with 0-2 of years of experience who would like to work in the land development sector.  As a staff engineer you will be learning and exposed to civil site development tasks that include concept plan preparation, site design, stormwater management, stormwater design, grading and drainage, and erosion and sediment control design. Responsibilities include performing the production of basic to complex levels of civil design for site, grading, utility, storm drainage plans and related tasks. Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D are preferred; excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

Responsibilities Include:

• Utilize StormCAD, HydroCAD, Hydraflow to develop models to support stormwater calculations in accordance with local and State stormwater regulations.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D to develop civil site design for land development projects and to prepare construction documents, exhibits and entitlement documents.
• Research permit requirements and local regulations.
• Layout sites to meet local zoning requirements.
• Grade sites and perform earthwork calculations.
• Assist with preparation of technical reports and plans to acquire permits and permit modifications during construction.
• Prepare and design of plans and technical reports to acquire permits.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Required Experience:

• BS in Engineering required and or ability to obtain within a year.
• EIT Certification preferred and or ability to obtain within a year.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D preferred.
• Excellent technical, communication and organizational skills.

A Staff Engineer at BL companies has an expected base salary of $67,000-72,000 per year, depending on experience. This is in addition to straight time overtime for every hour over 40, generous PTO, Leadership Development programs, 401k match and no-cost Stock Plan, and our 100% Employee Owned model.
