Process Automation Engineer

The primary objective of this position is to provide Process Automation System solutions to our customers. We primarily serve bulk manufacturing process industries such as Chemical, Life Sciences, Metals & Mining, Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage, and Pulp & Paper. We do not offer solutions for machine and discrete control industries such as Automotive. Automation systems are applied to manufacturing processes to control equipment within specifications to make a product. They utilize control computers/software and hardware to connect equipment instrumentation for providing operations of the manufacturing process through a Human Machine Interface. The position focuses on equipment control knowledge coupled with computer application knowledge. Specific experience with these two focus areas is not required but is a benefit.

This role will work with internal teams and customers to deliver process automation applications including design, software development, testing and startup plant assistance to the customer. In this role, the engineer will learn to become proficient with process automation and control systems including:

·        P&ID drawings and basic electrical schematics for I/O

·        ISA S88 standard and batch control applications

·        Control instrumentation including, pressure, flow, valves, temperature, motor drives

·        Software development processes using Emerson’s DeltaV automation system

·        Production operations of the process industries

·        Travel to our customer sites with significant customer service interactions

Requirements:

·        B.S. Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology

·        Ability to travel up to 10% within our 4-state area (Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan).

·        This position can be based in Indianapolis IN, Cincinnati OH, and Plymouth MI.
