Electrical Project Engineer

AERO Systems Engineering, Inc. (AERO) – Los Angeles, CA - Our company is growing at a record pace, and there has never been a better time to join us in the excitement! We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Electrical Project Engineer, in our Costa Mesa (California) CA office, to help AERO deliver airside and terminal infrastructure design projects locally, and in support of our other offices and headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities

  • Working with our team to develop detailed design documents using AutoCAD & REVIT for airports, including one-line (single line) diagrams, power plans, and required design calculations under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
  • Development of detailed specifications for unique projects.
  • Coordinating with other support discipline activities on projects, coordinating with other ASE offices and agencies, construction cost estimating, and quality assurance and control.
  • Assisting Project Managers in coordinating schedules, managing multiple assignments concurrently, monitoring project budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality work products which adhere to ASE standards.
  • Some regional travel will be required as projects may require field work for site assessment of project locations and support during construction. Occasionally this travel may involve overnight stays.
  • Effectively interact with ASE staff, clients, contractors, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner
  • Develop conceptional, design development, and construction level documents
  • Perform engineering calculations

Skills And Abilities

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D, and Revit modeling software
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and interact appropriately and positively with clients

Qualifications

  • Strong interest in aviation
  • BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Four (4+) or more years of progressively responsible experience in electrical, or mechanical engineering including involvement in multi-disciplinary engineering projects for new construction or major enhancement or repair to existing facilities and infrastructure.
  • Comprehensive professional knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering concepts, principles and practices as applied to design, layout, and planning for construction and rehabilitation of structures and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of government regulations involving airport facilities, building codes, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards with ability to apply them to ensure designs and construction comply with requirements.
  • Skill in using a computer and office suite software and other special engineering systems/software.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD, REVIT and Microsoft Office
  • Possession of (a) designation as an Engineer in Training (EIT) in the state of California or (b) official verification of passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) from the jurisdiction in which the examination was taken.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass random drug testing
  • Must be able to pass an FBI background check and obtain an airport badge.
  • Valid drivers’ license and maintenance of satisfactory driving record.
  • Some travel is required.
