Product Development Intern

Syscom Advanced Materials is an advanced materials company that manufactures and markets metal clad polymers that enable a variety of markets. The company’s mission is to become a leader in advanced conductive materials, known for innovative technology and unique, high performance conductive fibers offering a high value proposition in the marketplace. 

This position requires working shoulder to shoulder with Syscom Advanced Materials’ business development, engineering, and/or senior management to assist in developing a strategy to target selected markets with special projects. Projects may include but are not limited to product development, product and process improvements, data analysis, and material research. Interns will report to the head Product Development Engineer and CTO.

General Responsibilities: 

• Performing laboratory testing and research 

• Assist staff with ongoing projects 

• Participate in team meetings and activities 

• Compiling and presenting work and findings

Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently 

• Skilled in basic software such as Excel and PowerPoint 

• General laboratory experience, familiarity with hazardous chemical procedures and lab safety

• Communicates well 

• Resourceful and comfortable in a startup, growth environment 

• Highly organized – ability to prioritize, manage multiple deadlines and work in a team environment with limited supervision 

Education Requirement: 

• In the process of earning or recently obtained an undergraduate degree in an applicable engineering field (chemical, material science, etc.)

This position is available as flexible work through the academic year (part-time internship), full-time work through the academic year (co-op), or full-time work through the summer (summer internship).
