Technical Designer

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Technical Designer reports to the Design Manager.
  • Located in Cleveland, OH or Columbus, OH
  • Full-Time
  • Hybrid

The Designer assists and provides drawing support to Designers & Project Managers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under the guidance of Designers & Project Managers generate documents/drawings to submit for construction/bidding/installation purposes.
  • Obtain field dimensions when needed.
  • Attend job meetings with Designer or Project Manager when necessary.
  • Learn preferred vendors.
  • Assist in specifying and protecting jobs.
  • Expected to grow capabilities to perform position with greater efficiency annually.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner that fosters positive relations with customers, vendors, and internal company personnel.
  • Expand their knowledge of other jobs within the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Foster positive relations and communications with departmental personnel, IT, Purchasing, Installers, Sales, Marketing, and other TriMark Division design/contract management departments.
  • Strong relationship building skills with customers, general contractors, architects, manufacturers and vendors, and other trades on job sites.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Basic working knowledge of general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Excellent selling and presentation skills.
  • Highly creative.
  • Knowledge of foodservice industry.
  • Knowledge of Revit.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred, or equivalent Military or practical experience.
  • 1 year or more of entry level or internship experience in an Interior Design, Architectural, Engineering, or Construction related field.
  • Computer-Aided Design Certificate
  • Basic architectural and construction knowledge
  • Must complete CFSP Test within first 3 years of employment
  • Previous foodservice industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
