Construction Design/Sales Architect

Purpose:

            As a member of our Construction Division's Sales and Design Team, the Construction Design/Sales Architect plays a crucial role in driving the company's sales objectives while guaranteeing the excellence of design outputs that align with our clients' visions. This dynamic position encompasses the management of the design lifecycle from inception to completion, handling construction documents, and fostering enduring client partnerships for assigned projects. The Construction Design/Sales Architect will report directly to the Construction Operations Manager, ensuring a seamless integration of design excellence and sales effectiveness within the division.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Sales and Financial Performance:

·        Achieve a minimum sales goal as specified in the Offer Letter and Commission Plan.

·        Attain the gross profit target according to the budget.

·        Oversee the creation and improvement of estimating templates to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

·        Ensure the collection of overdue invoices, maintaining a strong emphasis on receivables being collected timely (No later than 30 days).

·        Prospect new leads to establish a reliable schedule for the upcoming development season.

Design and Production Oversight:

·        Design projects that embody the Green Impressions brand, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality.

·        Guarantee timely completion of designs and proposals.

·        Prepare construction documents and obtain necessary permits.

·        Produce comprehensive hand-off packages for production, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to production and minimizing the need for salesperson involvement during production.

·        Prepare client presentations including design drafts, 3D graphic models, and building material options. Utilize CAD/DynaScape to prepare base plans.

Management and Leadership:

·        Manage and organize construction files, photos, plans, and proposals for easy retrieval.

·        Lead by example, understanding the business philosophy and influencing others towards the team's goals.

·        Maintain and nurture client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.

·        May perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree: A degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture or a related field is preferred.
  • Associate Degree or Technical Certification: For candidates who do not possess a bachelor's degree, an associate degree or certification in construction, design, sales, landscape architecture or a related field may be acceptable, particularly if coupled with substantial relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of Landscape Architect experience in the landscape industry.

Essential Qualifications and Industry Expertise:

  1. Sales Experience: Strong experience in sales, particularly within the construction or a closely related industry, demonstrating a history of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  2. Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of the construction and design industry to effectively communicate with clients and understand their needs.
  3. Customer Relationship Management: Proven experience in managing client relationships, understanding client requirements, and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  4. Project Coordination: Experience in coordinating between different teams or departments to ensure a smooth transition from sales to production.

5.      Horticultural / Installation Knowledge: Profound knowledge of horticulture, including the ability to identify various plant species and understand the underlying processes involved in installing designs. This expertise is crucial for accurately bidding and estimating projects, ensuring that proposals are both competitive and reflective of the project's scope and requirements.

6.      Portfolio of previous Landscape Design work preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):

·        Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective customer interaction, negotiation, and relationship building.

·        Technical Skills: Proficient in industry-relevant software, including CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and DynaScape, to facilitate the creation, visualization, and discussion of designs with clients. Additionally, skilled in utilizing CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems to streamline customer engagement processes.

·        Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple customer accounts and projects simultaneously.

·        Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze customer needs, understand project requirements, and translate these into actionable sales strategies.

·        Compliance and Integrity: Must successfully clear background checks and drug screenings as part of our commitment to maintain a safe and trustworthy work environment.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $65,000-$75,000 plus commission.
