Primary Objectives

  • To Design, improve, and install integrated systems in the introduction of new products to the manufacturing environment. Directly impact all aspects of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and innovation. To provide expertise on a variety of complex manufacturing issues to increase the capabilities to produce products. 
     

Essential Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned and changed as needed)

  • Supervise Weld Technicians for PM’s as well as support assignments
  • Spec out welding equipment and tooling for new and existing product
  • Attend run-offs for approving weld equipment and tooling
  • Develop and establish weld parameters for new or existing equipment
  • Troubleshoot welding problems and provide solutions accordingly
  • Work to identify cost savings 
  • Communicate safe policies for job performance
  • Schedule and attend necessary company meetings
  • Work with other departments to solve problems.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Weld Engineering or related field
  • Extensive experience in weld assembly area of automotive support industry
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience with quality and tooling related issues
  • Knowledge of SPC and CMM data 
  • Tradesman certification based on experience
  • Mechanical / Electronic studies or technical training 
  • Knowledge of resistance welding and robotics
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Computer skills
