Field Engineer - Civil Engineering

We are very pleased to announce that Ragle Inc. is now looking for a highly motivated, hardworking Field Engineer/Project Engineer who is interested in working for an established construction company with great advancement opportunities. Our Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas Heavy Highway Division is seeking team-focused, innovative, and results-oriented individuals who are looking for new learning experiences, and a desire to contribute to our clients’ success.

 

The Field Engineer/Project Engineer will plan and supervise the construction of infrastructure projects such as bridges, roads rehabilitation, paving and asphalt. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the project manager and project team with project documentation and control, job cost accounting, scheduling, and construction supervision efforts.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Where applicable, direct and oversee CRAFT employees regarding construction, operations, and/or maintenance tasks and assignments at a project site.
  • Train and assign tasks to interns or less experienced Project Engineers

 

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe work site is maintained at all times.
  • Review and maintain quality control.
  • Ensure self-perform crews have all equipment, materials, and survey on site before they arrive.
  • Track production on daily and weekly basis through timecard review and quantity claiming.
  • Collaborate with crews and subcontractors to ensure progress is met.
  • Perform quantity take off and measurements of work in place.
  • Coordinate/communicate project activities with inspectors/owner representatives.
  • Prepare 3 Week look ahead schedule for the project.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Gain the respect of others by being fair, honest, reliable, and hard working.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Perform duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
  • Understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of bridges, roads, and other related structures.
  • Understanding of safety regulations related to assigned projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 0 - 3 years' of experience as an Engineer in Heavy Civil Construction, bridges, structures, roads, and highways (Field Engineer 0-3 years, Project Engineer 3-6 years of relevant work experience)
