Automation & Controls Engineer in Training
Job Description:
Pacific Blue Engineering is seeking a candidate to fill an Automation & Controls Engineer in Training position. This exciting role entails a variety of responsibilities in a fast paced, and technically challenging environment. As a college candidate you will have the opportunity to grow your technical skill set across a broad range of automation technology, work in a variety of industrial environments for numerous Fortune 500 companies like Disney, Universal Studios, Nestle, PepsiCo, Toyota, Tesla, and develop industry specific expertise. Skills to be developed:
· Design, develop, and commission PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications to meet specifications for future applications such as can fillers, robot packaging and palletizing, roller coasters, entertainment park attractions, and machine safety engineering
· Manage automation projects complete lifecycle from designing architecture to commissioning
· Perform onsite programming and electrical troubleshooting service calls with existing automation equipment including; VFDs, Servo Drives, PLCs, HMIs, Sensors, Relays, Motors, etc.
· Commission automation systems onsite at client locations
· Comfortable working with a variety of automation hardware and software platforms
· Develop electrical Bill of Materials and appropriately size electrical components in a controls enclosure
· Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade legacy automation products
· Create controls architectural layouts
· Interpret and redline electrical schematics
· Familiarity with automation manufacturers such as Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Ignition, Schneider Electric, and others
· Communicate to customers and team members in a timely and professional manner
· Write detailed service reports
Skillsets and Qualifications
· BS in technical field like electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, physics
· Coachable and able to trained
· Proven team player; able to leverage individual strengths to provide value to the entire team and customers
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Understanding of low voltage circuits via Physics Course or have taken a Circuits course
· Comfortable on being hands on with tools such as laptop and voltmeter
· Attention to detail in listening and execution
· Ability to develop and grow professional relationships
· Enjoy problem solving through programming
· Solid problem solving skills and displays acts of resourcefulness
· Have reliable transportation
