JOB SUMMARY & KEY OBJECTIVES:
The Supply Chain Intern position is an upper-class individual in a Supply Chain Program with the long-range desire to be in a procurement type role and the desire to learn all facets of Supply Chain from Procure to Pay.  The Supply Chain Intern will build relationships within the administrative office and plant teams with the goal to improve overall sourcing and procurement for the company, and help set the stage for improved controls, all to aid in controlling long term cost.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Procurement:

  • Competitive Bid (RFP): 
    • Lead small RFP’s and Assist in the administration of large RFP’s to aid in controlling costs.
  • Assist with analyzing  current spend data.
  • Test and revise Procurement and Transportation X3 ERP processes.

Transportation & Fleet:

  • Develop, test and revise as necessary our X3 ERP process for Transportation.
  • Develop a Fleet parts inventory list and set up min/max inventory in our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS - a.k.a. Limble).
  • Develop & Perform internal DOT audit on Equipment, and driver records.
  • Develop reports based on data and analytics that aid in making faster business decisions and driving down total cost of operations.
  • Familiar with and can apply 5-S techniques on the job.

Complete other work as assigned throughout the internship.

    • Will frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
       

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • College Student in a Supply Chain, Engineering or Manufacturing program
  • Ideally a Junior or Senior in their respective program
  • Computer literate in MS Office Suite, Google Drive and Google Docs and Sheets
  • Strong organizational skills and timely with meeting deadlines
  • Effective communication skills
  • Able to work both autonomously and in a team environment
  • Self-Starter making excellent use of their time
  • Good analytical abilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent Math Skills
