SURVEY TECHNICIAN/FIELD ENGINEER

As a Survey Technician with Bruce & Merrilees, you play a crucial role in our success by contributing to "Powerful Solutions" through teamwork. Your responsibilities include handling survey and layout functions, utilizing Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), and participating in project planning. Serving as a vital link between Construction Service Specialists and Field Personnel, you'll build and maintain professional relationships with various stakeholders. Upholding ethical and professional conduct is essential to ensure our commitment to safety, quality, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Some of the Exciting Work You'll Be Involved In:

  • Conduct construction survey layouts and as-built surveys for a variety of project types.
  • Execute CAD tasks as directed, showcasing your proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Trimble RTS unit, and 3D file creation for construction layout.
  • Educate Field Personnel on the BIM process and assist with project-specific BIM requirements.
  • Provide invaluable support to project teams for survey layout and related issues.
  • Utilize Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to locate sub-surface features and map their position.
  • Collaborate with project teams on modeling and CAD requirements at different project stages.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • An Associate degree in surveying or 3+ years of surveying experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Trimble RTS unit, and 3D file creation for construction layout.
  • Strong knowledge of survey databases, point groups, surface tools, layering, and sheet management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to handle non-standard situations.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to interpret various instructions, including diagrams, schedules, or written and verbal instructions.
  • Team player with excellent collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to meeting construction schedules and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
