Opportunity

We offer an exciting career opportunity for a Construction Engineer: We are looking for a Construction Engineer with experience on transportation projects, preferably on Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) or Illinois Tollway projects.

The ideal candidate would possess:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred, not required)

Experience with transportation infrastructure projects for any of the Chicagoland agencies (IDOT/ISTHA/CDOT)

Knowledge of Civil Engineering principles and techniques with reference to construction materials, methods and procedures

The ability to maintain accurate and detailed field and office records including preparing inspection reports and documentation of quantities

Familiarity with IDOT “Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction”

Interpret and implement work per plans and specifications

Good communication skills, deal effectively with people, clients and coworkers

Microsoft Office proficiency

E.I. license (preferred, not required)

IDOT Doc Cert (preferred, not required)

A minimum of two (2) years of experience is required, preferably with IDOT projects. Illinois Tollway or CDOT experience will also be considered. Candidates must have assumed responsibility either as a Construction Engineer or Documentation Technician on previous projects.
