Senior Designer/ Engineer
Overview: We are seeking an individual to be part of a growing team providing planning and design services to a variety of clients with varying degrees of complexity. The ideal applicant will possess the organizational and communication skills to manage multiple projects concurrently. - Location: Fort Wayne Area, Valparaiso, Porter County, and Surrounding Area (Remote/Hybrid Work Options Available)
- Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of designers with the development of plans, specifications, analyses, evaluations, maps, procedures, and reports.
- Oversee the design and building of large construction projects, including roads, railways, airports, bridges, dams, sewage systems, pipelines, and buildings.
- Prepare project plans, inspect designs, and manage budgets and resources.
- Create geometric layouts for infrastructure projects and site development for private and public clients.
- Prepare comprehensive construction plan sets that include plan, profile, note, and detail sheets.
- Adhere to QA/QC standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with engineers and colleagues, including mentoring junior staff.
- Ensure profitability by monitoring budget versus project progress.
- Possess extensive experience in managing large construction projects and the ability to ensure adherence to construction specifications and standards.
- Survey new construction sites and assess existing structures for upgrades.
- Design and recommend improvements to computer-aided design (CAD) software drawings and schematics. Utilize our design software Civil 3D or MicroStation.
- Great leadership, project management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Perform cost estimations and preparing project budgets.
- Preferred experience with drainage analysis and design
- Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Inspect completed projects for compliance with industry codes, specifications, and safety standards.
- Document processes and presenting project progress updates to senior managers and clients.
- Qualifications
Required:
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
- State-licensed and certified civil engineer.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred:
- Licensed, Professional Engineer (PE) in State of Indiana
