Project Engineer Intern Summer 2024
In this role a student will be exposed to a challenging manufacturing environment and will work with multiple aspects of the production process and Project Management including process troubleshooting, Electro-Mechanical design for process optimization, while learning about safety, meeting timelines, and project management. Students will be given assignments consistent with company goals and work with all levels of staff to develop and implement solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant Safety
- Learning/documenting projects
- Learn about Electro-mechanical design and applications including PLC/HMI programming
- Project technical evaluation
- Process Electro-Mechanical troubleshooting and optimization
- Learn Construction Management and Reporting
- Compile a presentation for completed projects and present to management
Required Education
- Completion of sophomore college year or equivalent in Mechatronics, Advanced Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Microsoft Office/word processing/spreadsheet/PowerPoint proficiency.
- Basic CAD skills
- PLC/HMI Programming
- Electrical Troubleshooting
- Hydraulic/Pneumatic Troubleshooting and applications
- Motor Controls
- Applied Mathematics
- Working Knowledge of P&IDs
- Demonstrated ability to work in teams and with third parties.
Assignment Duration:
- Intern: 8-12 weeks
- Co-op: 1+ semesters
Compensation & Benefits:
- Market competitive hourly rate
