Position Summary:
The Design Engineer is responsible for technical processing of orders. The engineer specifies material for procurement, designs equipment as required and determines the applicability of existing designs to the customer order. Familiar with a variety of the field and shop concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on education, experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.

This is a full-time, in-person position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design combustion equipment for manufacturing.
  • Communicate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure technical specifications are met throughout the design, manufacturing and installation processes.
  • Check manufacturing drawings to ensure the equipment will meet its functional requirements.
  • Determine suitability of external equipment for its intended purpose.
  • Provide timely technical assistance and solutions.
  • Prepare engineering documents for customer submittal.
  • Fill out timesheets (or whatever method prescribed) to track drawing hours.
  • Update and maintain product and job records as required.

Qualifications/Skills:
  • BS degree in mechanical or chemical engineering preferred, technical Associate’s degree required.
  • Three years’ experience as a design engineer in the combustion or metals industry, preferred.
  • Ability to size and specify fuel and combustion air system components and combustion system piping, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of burner design criteria, NFPA 86 and EN742-2.
  • Experienced in combustion system start-ups, commissioning, and troubleshooting, preferred.
