Project Engineering Summer Intern

Our Interns play an important role in enhancing our business. When you join our company, you will work on projects that enhance your leadership, analytical, and project management skills.
The Project Engineering Intern will work on a variety of projects for the Saint-Gobain Silver Grove site. This will be a highly interactive position which will help you to develop your capabilities, time management and communication skills.
This experience will enhance your understanding of engineering in a manufacturing setting and provide a strong career footing.

Essential Functions
·        Work closely with the operations team to ensure all gypsum wallboard and joint compound produced meets plant, customer, industry, and government requirements efficiently and effectively.
·        Work alongside the performance and quality department in developmental projects from design concepts to plant implementation directed toward the success of the plant.
·        Provide support for production, quality, product development and other departments as required
·        Assist team with plant/capital improvement projects that comply with company safety and environmental guidelines.
 
Required Qualifications
·        Currently pursuing / enrolled in accredited college / university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
·  Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
·  Familiar with Microsoft Office software package. 

Preferred but Not Required Skills
·        Exposure to a manufacturing environment.
·        Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma.
