Dam Safety Civil Engineer
This is a 3 year post graduate paid internship that is designed to develop well rounded dam safety professionals. You will spend about 75% of the 3 years in a travel status. You will be at a variety of projects and offices such as Alaska, Nebraska, California, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Texas and Florida just to name a few. During this time you will be working on design, construction, labs, data management, risk as well as some routine maintenance. This is not a comprehensive list as we will develop a training plan and take into consideration what major projects are ongoing. You will receive technical training throughout the 3 years as well as leadership and soft skills training. You will be working with some of the leading experts in their field during this time and have an established mentor and coaching plan.
This is a GS 7/9/11 with a non-competitive 12 at the end of the program. We will work together to ensure we find a placement for you upon completion of the 3 year program. You will also receive TDY pay (hotel, meals & incidentals, rental car) while you are in travel status.
This program is fast paced and designed to give you a broad knowledge base of dam safety.
