Electrical Engineer

What We Are Looking For: 
Power System Engineering, Inc. (PSE) is looking for a well-rounded individual to assist in providing consulting services for various engineering projects including electrical utility planning, system protection and coordination, system design, and utility operational support. 
 
What You Will Be Doing: 
  • With the support and guidance of PSE colleagues, perform utility studies including but not limited to long-range plans, construction work plans, distributed energy resource system impact studies, protection/sectionalizing, arc flash, power factor correction, and system reliability 
  • Provide and/or assist with the electrical design of distribution and commercial service projects 
  • Perform electrical system modeling analysis utilizing engineering analysis software 
  • Provide ESRI support for power delivery design projects, including project maps, schematic drawings, and layout drawings 
  • Assist with completing the environmental review process for electrical utility projects 
  • Provide day-to-day utility operations support to PSE clients 
  • Other duties as assigned 
 
What You Will Need: 
 
Education and Experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) 
  • Entry Level: 0-5 years of experience preferred 
  • Prior internship experience preferred 
 
Knowledge and Skills  
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office Suite 
  • The candidate shall be self-motivated and have experience developing construction bid documents for commercial and industrial facilities 
  • Working knowledge of applicable NEC, IEEE, and NESC standards is preferred but not required 
  • Basic knowledge of electric utility systems and wiring and schematic diagrams is a plus. 
  • Possess the ability to achieve quality results, be change-oriented, foster innovation, and be a continuous learner 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to apply effective verbal and written communication skills when writing specifications, preparing technical reports, and contributing to or leading project team discussions 
  • Ability to travel as needed (up to 15%) for team meetings, client consultations, site assessments, and construction inspections – occasional overnight travel may be required
