Biomedical Research Student Engineer

Biomedical Engineering Intern
 
Purpose
The Biomechanics group is seeking a finite modeling intern. This analytical work will be used to complement and establish correlation with actual test data.

Essential Functions
·        Created finite element models (FEM)
·        Running simulations of crash
 
Other Duties and Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions)
·        Learn the application of finite element (FEA) in developing and setting up of models using pre-processing tools such as LS-PrePost/Oasys Primer and perform analysis using LS-Dyna.
·        Work closely with a research scientist in these efforts.

Qualifications
·        High school diploma is required
·        Junior/senior engineering undergrad, or grad students with an understanding of finite element analysis (FEA) will be considered
·        Excellent computer skills using office applications
·        Interpersonal skills
·        Excellent communication skills
·        Organization and planning skills
·        Valid driver’s license
Working conditions
  • Standard office, climate controlled environment
  • Outside during rain or shine
Physical requirements
·        Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time
·        Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
·        Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers
