Job Summary
Our Interns play an important role in enhancing our business. When you join our company, you will work on projects that enhance your leadership, analytical, and project management skills.
The Capital Project Engineering Intern will work on a variety of projects for both the Silver Grove and Carrollton sites in Kentucky. This will be a highly interactive position which will help you to develop your troubleshooting capabilities, time management and communication skills.
This experience will enhance your understanding of implementation and commissioning of capital projects in a manufacturing setting and provide a strong career footing.
Essential Functions
·        Work closely with the operations team to ensure all gypsum wallboard and joint compound produced meets plant, customer, industry, and government requirements efficiently and effectively.
·        Work alongside the capital projects department in plant implementation and commissioning of large scale projects that comply with company safety and environmental guidelines.
·        Provide support for the capital projects department as required in both sites
 
Required Qualifications
·        Currently pursuing / enrolled in accredited college / university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
·  Effective communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
·  Familiar with Microsoft Office software package.
·  Access to a vehicle for travel to each plant site.
 
Preferred but Not Required Skills
·        Exposure to a manufacturing environment.
·        Knowledge of Risk Analysis
·        Experience with SAP and troubleshooting issues.
