Planner Scheduler

The Planner Scheduler performs advanced aspects of Planning/Scheduling, Project Controls, and administrative Scheduling functions with minimal supervision. This role is responsible for analyzing data to develop critical path network (CPN) schedules on proposals and large contracts with a focus on engineering and materials supply to the site. In coordinating and integrating schedules with external customers, this role requires monitoring progress between Engineering, fabrication, and the customer, along with contractual reporting requirements. Routine schedule updates are required to satisfy proposal and/or contact release dates, as well as provide project status reporting, summary, and analysis to support the business forecast
  • Develop CPN schedules for highly complex projects, including the development of Engineering process maps (workflow), and work breakdown structures.
  • Consult with Proposal Management, Project Management, and technical experts to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks required for engineered equipment per customer specifications.
  • Collect data and updates from various sources and provide progress updates, data inputs, and produce schedule reports.
  • Lead coordination of schedules with internal and external customers/partners, as well as, project status reporting, summary, and analysis. 
  • Must work with Project Managers and be able to represent the company and project interests in front of customers. 
  • Perform scheduling studies and what-if scenarios.
  • Responsible for resource loading, physical quantity tracking, and person-hour tracking.
  • Perform various types of analysis including trend analysis, graphics analysis, earned value analysis, productivity analysis, and risk analysis (or any other identified Key Performance Indicators).
  • Manage changes in the schedule and communicate the impact to higher management and the customer
  • Expedite material, maintain material tracking system, and process engineering releases
 

Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical Engineering discipline or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
  • 8+ years of experience as a Planner Scheduler
  • Possesses an engineering background in the Power, Process, or Chemical industry
  • Certification as a PMI Scheduling professional or PMP Project Management professional will be advantageous.
  • Proficient in various software packages.
  • Understanding of engineering design, bill of materials, and technical specifications
  • Knowledge of the power, process, or chemical industry in an EPC environment.  
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft portfolio of applications including Microsoft Project, Excel, Access, and Word. 
  • ERP system experience. 
  • Must be able to work with internal and external customers to understand their requirements. 
  • Must be adaptable and able to work within a dynamic work environment.
