Fabrisonic is an early-stage company experiencing explosive growth fueled by IoT adoption, electrification and pandemic-inspired innovation. We specialize in metal 3D printing using our own unique patented solid-state printers. We conduct state-of-the-art R&D, provide serial production solutions, and build hybrid additive-subtractive 3D printing machines. Popular applications for our technology include electronic (busbar) connections, heat exchangers, dissimilar metal cladding, and parts with embedded electronics/sensors. Our customers are often printing parts that have never previously been produced.
Additive Manufacturing Intern
This internship provides an aspiring engineer with the opportunity to work closely with a highly-skilled team of engineers and technicians, while learning state-of-the-art ultrasonic additive manufacturing processes. Located just north of Columbus in Lewis Center, Fabrisonic is within easy reach of The Ohio State University and will provide the right candidate with a unique opportunity to develop a wide variety of skills related to mechanical engineering, materials science, additive manufacturing, and machining.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing of a B.S. in Engineering (Additive Manufacturing, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Welding, Materials)
· Hands on mechanical, fabrication, machining, or 3D printing experience
· Strong organizational skills
· Team-oriented, strong interpersonal skills, and self-directed
· Willing to get your hands dirty and learn and apply new skills
· Attention to detail and organization
· To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen.
Desired characteristics:
· CNC machining experience (CNC milling and knowledge of G-Code is a plus.)
· CAD and CAM experience (primarily using SolidWorks and Fusion360). Experience in technical project management and team leadership experience in a production/design environment
Responsibilities:
· The candidate will be part of an engineering team that is responsible for ultrasonic additive manufacturing research and development, production, and machine building
· Participate in set-up, preparation, execution, inspection, and testing of ultrasonic additive manufacturing builds
· Utilization of CAD tools (i.e., Solidworks), for design review, assemblies and 2D drawings to support development work
· Support engineers in developing technical solutions
· Assist in ISO 9001 compliance
· Contribute ideas in the execution of engineering operations
