Pharmacy Intern

Medical Mutual is looking for a summer intern who is passionate about helping others and interested in working in the health insurance profession. The 12-week, paid internship role performs administrative and technical support duties within our Pharmacy department. It’s a great opportunity to work alongside our staff and learn more about health insurance. Positions are hybrid, in our Cleveland and or Brooklyn, OH location.

The Pharmacy intern will receive experience in clinical interventions, formulary and utilization management, Medicare Part D, and other clinical functions in a managed care pharmacy setting. The intern will perform pharmacy related work functions such as refill reminder calls to promote adherence and quality metrics, administrative assistance with drug information requests, pharmacy policies, prior authorization criteria and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
•Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences
•Experience or interest in managed care pharmacy is preferred but not required.
•Basic knowledge of pharmacology, drug information/resources and Microsoft programs such as Excel and Outlook. Intern must be able to effectively communication verbally and in writing.
