The incumbent will perform analysis on samples properly accessioned into the OCME forensic lab. In accordance with the direction of the Forensic Pathologist assigned to the case associated with the samples or in accordance with the direction issued by the Chief Toxicologist of the OCME. The results of these analysis are provided to the Forensic Pathologist for interpretation an utilization in the determination of cause and manner of death for their respective cases. Incumbent at this level perform the full spectrum of the toxicology lab analysis and must maintain the highest level of proficiency on all instrumentation, maintain a complete understanding of various and/or emerging methodologies and maintain the ability to perform all functions associated with the Forensic Analyst I, Forensic Analyst II, Forensic Analyst III classifications assigned to the OCME. Other duties as assigned.  

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university with a major in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, forensic sciences, natural sciences, or related field.
Training Substitution for Firearms Section Only: Four years of experience as a qualified forensic laboratory firearms examiner may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
 
Experience: Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a Forensic Analyst.
Substitution: A Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in forensic science or related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
