BIOLOGICAL ASSAYS AUTOMATION INTERN
Location: Kalamazoo, MI
Internship Summary:
Zoetis Veterinary Medicine Research and Development, Analytical Sciences in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking an intern to transition traditional titration assays to an automated platform system that will increase assay turnaround time and improve assays throughput.
Internship Job Duties:
- Run virus titration and/or virus neutralization assays using various cell lines
- Develop templates for virus titration and/or virus neutralization assays on an automated platform system
- Interact with expert scientist to utilize the automated platform and set up templates for assay automation
- Work with a team of scientist to design, execute and analyze experiments
- Report experiments results according to the company’s standards
Internship Qualifications:
- Must be proficient at cell culture, data analysis, and method development
- Must be self-motivated with tissue culture experience and a solid working knowledge of virus propagation
- Must be proficient at aseptic technique and fluorescence microscopy
- Enrolled in a MS or PhD program related to virology or immunology
- Training or knowledge in computer science and/or automation is a plus but not essential
