EIT (Engineer-In-Training)

GAI Consultants is seeking new civil and construction engineering graduates with their EIT certification in our Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Fishers Indiana offices. Start your career with a growing and dynamic team working on a variety of engineering assignments. We offer both design and construction inspection opportunities in the office and in the field on transportation projects throughout Indiana. If assigned to the field, you will be issued a company vehicle. Our goal is to make you a well-rounded engineer in the Civil Engineering field and position you for a future Professional Engineer’s license. The successful candidate is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus.

Plans, designs and inspects transportation construction and roadway designs. Performs surveying duties, material testing, and calculations of material quantities. Undertakes technical and feasibility studies. Collaborates with other construction and engineering professionals and discusses client requirements. Uses Microstation CAD software to develop detailed designs. Ensures that constructions meet legal guidelines and safety and environment requirements.

• Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather conditions.

• Ability to lift heavy objects (~40 lbs.)such as testing equipment and materials samples.

• Ability to walk on uneven terrain and navigate steps, stairs, and ladders.

• Ability to work in hazardous environments and use required Personal Protective Equipment. The environment will include dust, noise, tripping, and overhead hazards. Understanding of basic safety practices in a construction environment. May be required to complete OSHA training for specific projects. May be required to complete other safety training for particular inspection activities, such as confined space entry, fall protection, etc.

This is a full-time opportunity for a recent graduate, December 2021 or Spring 2022 graduate, with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited Engineering program, and an EIT certification.
