Union Market: R55797 Student Steward (Fall)

Primarily provides support for unit’s three bay sinks and the operation of commercial dishwashing machines (flight, conveyer, and/or single rack). Responsible for machine maintenance that includes, but is not limited to, cleaning, sanitizing and deliming. Will regularly clean plates, bowls, cups and utensils along with pots, pans, cooking utensils, and other warewashing items as assigned. Also expected to clean and sanitize multiple surfaces and equipment within the dining operations. Unit will provide all personal protective equipment necessary, including water resistant aprons and high temperature gloves. Must have the ability to read and comprehend safety data associated with chemical use, use specific cleaning equipment as directed, lift items up to 50 pounds, manage inventory and be exposed to hot water and chemical cleansers. Familiar with basic fundamentals of safe food handling and storage procedures. Upholds a high level of professionalism and attention to friendly, accurate and prompt service; is expected to smile, greet and make eye contact at every customer interaction; ultimately responsible for providing an extraordinary dining and/or event experience. Assists with general cleaning and other duties as assigned. Required to successfully complete department allergen training, knife skills training, food safety training within first 30 days of employment.
