Software Test Engineer

Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is seeking a Software Test Engineer to join the Operating Systems team. This team member will help ensure that X-ES software releases conform to specified requirements through production validation. As a Software Test Engineer, you will contribute to all stages of product validation, from generating Software test plans and mapping them to requirements, to designing and implementing test cases for a wide range of products and Software release types. You will also be responsible for test automation and test library development and maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with all aspects of software design by performing work related to software validation and debug. Specific responsibilities may include the following:
  • Assist in software test development, software test automation, maintenance, and debug.
  • Complete software test case generation and automation duties.
  • Create software test plans and report generations.
  • Map software requirements to specific tests or test cases.
  • Oversee Test Cycle and Test Runs for a given product.
  • Complete manual validation testing.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field is required; or Associate's degree with 2+ years related work experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with Python and/or Gitlab CI/CD.
  • Prior knowledge with Requirements Management Systems (Such as JAMA).

Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience with embedded systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge/experience with the Agile workflow process.
  • Ability to identify and create Functional Requirements for a product or design.
  • Familiarity with any of the following is preferred: C programming, VxWorks, Linux, UEFI BIOS and U-boot.
