Embedded FPGA Engineer

Extreme Engineering Solutions is looking for an Embedded FPGA Engineer to develop solutions across a wide range of ruggedized hardware products and applications. As part of the Programmable Logic team, you will contribute to all stages of software development, from requirements and design, through implementation and verification, to continuing engineering and customer support. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and develop programmable logic solutions for embedded systems, using Hardware Description Language (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog), to solve a variety of technical challenges
  • Test programmable logic designs in lab to analyze performance, verify functionality, and validate designs meet requirements
  • Collaborate with peers inside and outside the team to quickly resolve technical issues and ensure a high level of product quality
  • Translate system specifications into programmable logic requirements, design, and test specifications

Desired Qualifications
  • Significant experience in HDL (VHDL/Verilog) and HVL (SystemVerilog) for PLDs, FPGAs, and SoCs
  • Experience with Xilinx FPGA and SoC devices (Ultrascale, Ultrascale+, Versal)
  • Experience with Microchip FPGA and SoC devices (SmartFusion2, PolarFire/PolarFire SoC)
  • Experience with Vendor tools: Mentor Graphics Modelsim/QuestaSim, Xilinx, Microsemi
  • Experience achieving timing closure on FPGA designs
  • Experience in microprocessor (PowerPC, Intel, SoC) designs
  • Experience with high level programming languages (C/C++)
  • Highly self-motivated in order to drive projects forward, with strong organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer engineering, or related degree; or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience developing/designing for FPGAs utilizing VHDL and/or Verilog
