The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Electrical Engineer (0855-05 to GS-0855-11) to work for the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah.

Starting Salary Range*: $40,407 to $77,247

Qualifications:
In this position you will serve as an Avionics Electronics Engineer serving in a developmental capacity performing assignments designed to further develop knowledge and skill in applying established practices, concepts, and methodologies of electronics engineering. Assignments are designed to develop broad gauged individuals who can deal effectively with change and complexity within the Air Force environment as it relates to installation, operations, and maintenance of avionic electrical equipment.

Position is developmental to a target grade of GS-0855-12. Non-competitive promotion to the next higher grade level is dependent upon: 1) satisfactory completion of training requirements, 2) demonstrated ability to perform the duties at the next higher grade level, 3) fulfillment of all OPM legal and regulatory requirements for promotion, and 4) recommendation for promotion by the supervisor.

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering from an institution with an ABET accredited engineering program.
  • The employee must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
  • The employee must meet the continuing acquisition education requirements IAW DoDI 5000.66 paragraph E2.2.8.
  • Knowledge of electronics engineering sufficient to adapt precedents or existing strategies to meet unusual needs, special demands, and determine feasible solutions to meet project requirements related to avionics electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge of analysis, evaluation, fact-finding, and investigative techniques in order to gather data, identify significant factors, and recommend a solution from a number of possible alternatives.
  • Ability to plan and organize work; communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing; as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies
