Engineering Intern, Electrochemistry & Corrosion

Adranos is seeking an Engineering Intern – Electrochemistry & Corrosion to support its rocket fuel research, development, and production efforts. This position will support R&D activities in materials processing and characterization for advanced coatings and thin-film fabrication.
 
Adranos is a company focused on energetic materials innovation, including the development of ALITEC, the highest-performing solid rocket fuel in the world. ALITEC dramatically increases the range and payload capacity of various launch systems, including missiles, hypersonics, space launch platforms, and various other systems utilizing solid propellant.
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
 
·      Conduct and analyze experiments relating to corrosion and electrochemistry
·      Write reports on findings
·      Assist other engineers and scientists with ongoing projects
·      Utilize various laboratory equipment for materials analysis
·      Perform various other tasks as needed by the organization
 
Required Qualifications:
 
·      Enrolled in a Bachelors degree program in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field
·      Anticipated graduation date on or after December 2022
·      Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States
·      Excellent academic credentials (3.0 GPA and higher)
 
Other Qualifications:
 
·      Laboratory experience in electrochemistry
·      Laboratory experience in corrosion
·      Experience with thin film materials
·      Ability to work autonomously with limited organizational structure
·      Willingness to assist with projects that drive the company forward regardless of whether they are your responsibility or not
·      Ability to wear many hats at once and thrive in scenarios with stretch goals
·      Desire to be a part of a growing company and make a large impact on the aerospace and defense industries
