Field Engineer
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
AET is seeking a motivated entry-level candidate for a field engineer role in our St Paul, MN, office in our pavement group. We’re looking for recent graduates in Civil Engineering, Geology, Construction Engineering, or Geological Engineering to conduct field and laboratory testing on pavements and various paving materials. In this position you will use state of the art pavement and laboratory testing equipment to evaluate pavement systems. This position will help you gain experience to advance to a Staff Engineer role after 2-3 years. AET’s Pavement Group is part of our construction services, geotechnical, and environmental division providing opportunities to learn from and be mentored by our senior engineers and project managers as well as partner with technicians and interns to deliver excellent service for clients. This role can include up to 50% of out of town travel .

IN THIS JOB, YOU WILL:
Perform pavement inspection, observations, and testing services (ground penetrating radar (GPR), falling weight deflectometer (FWD) and Geoprobe soil borings and pavement coring) and following AET, ASTM, ACI, and industry standards
Document and report results in data management systems for AET project managers and engineers
Communicate with project managers, clients, and other AET staff to establish project schedules
Follow safety guidelines set by AET and client/contractor
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Construction Engineering, or Geological Engineering
0-3 years of experience in an engineering or science related field
Engineer in Training (EIT) or Geologist in Training (GIT) or the ability to attain it within 1 year of hire
Maintain valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record and maintain compliance with DOT driver regulations
Capable of the physical labor required, with personal protective equipment
