Quality Engineer

Stepan is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Contract Manufacturing Quality Team in Northbrook, IL. In this role, you will report to the Quality Manager Contract Manufacturing. 
In this role you will manage the Quality Activities with key/preferred Contract Manufacturing partners (CMOs) for assigned products/projects by ensuring quality of product, process transfer validation, and quality issues investigations and resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
• Partner with cross-function team to lead the qualification of New Contract Manufacturing and contracted services including Tolling, Transloading, Packaging activities.
• Ensure that the CMOs maintain quality systems that are in the state of compliance and aligned with Stepan expectations.
• Act as conduit between Contract Manufacturing and analytical team to ensure GR&R studies are perform as part of Contract Manufacturing qualification and are appropriately documented. 
• Direct and collaborate with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensure that effective corrective actions are implemented (CAPA, SCAR), and contribute to supplier quality improvement programs. 
• Participate in or lead external audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventative actions.
• Lead investigation and resolution for customer product quality complaints using disciplined problem solving techniques.


Qualifications

• Experience using time management skills to prioritize, organize, and track details in order to meet deadlines of multiple projects.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously typically involving cross functional teams.
• Good understanding of the principles and application of quality system and quality risk management
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team environment, attention to details, and excellent problem resolution skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to share direction, and data with suppliers and colleagues from various function in the organization


Education

Bachelors degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or related science
