Industrial Engineer - Production

The main function of the Industrial Engineer position is to oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. This position will recommend revision to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other changes to increase production or improve standards.
 
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
  • Establish, maintain, and improve BOMs, routings, and other critical master data for all products.
  • Perform time studies, ergonomic/safety assessments, for all production or warehouse areas and implement identified improvements.
  • Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, use of space, equipment, material and personnel.
  • Manage or assist with capital equipment acquisitions from capex proposal through implementation. 
  • Assist in developing plant layout in planning rearrangement of facilities, equipment and operations for better utilization of space, familiar with cell concepts.
  • Determine and eliminate root causes and diminish occurrences in the manufacturing process.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, or diagrams to illustrate workflow, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
 
We require:
 
  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Lean manufacturing training, 5S, Six Sigma
  • Experience performing time studies, reviewing routings, production master data
  • Proven track record of reducing costs through processes and efficiencies
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on, team oriented and committed to business improvement processes
  • Track record of managing or participating in a manufacturing faclitiy’s safety program. 
  • Process-oriented mentality with strong problem solving capabilities and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Understanding of GD&T & technical drawings.
  • Computer literacy: Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint; CAD proficiency. SAP, PLEX, or Oracle is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements include:
• Work performed in an office and factory settings.
• Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
• Occasionally required to lift up to 80 lbs.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities.
