The Plant Manager in Training (PT-I) will be focused on learning all aspects of the manufacturing process including supply chain, quality, production supervision, welding, and coatings. The PT-I will be a highly organized self-starter who is self-motivated, results driven, and goal oriented with a customer focus and a sense of urgency. This position is located onsite in Liberal, Kansas.
The PT-I is responsible for learning all aspects of the plant so that the role holder can contribute to operational efficiencies. This includes driving operational excellence in Safety, Quality, Output and Cost Management.
Additionally, this role holder is expected to:
- Complete one Green Belt Project per year focused on a Lean Six Sigma methodology
- Bring additional focus and execution of the plant’s operations by establishing and leveraging best practices from both internal and external sources.
- Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
Requirements:
Degree in Engineering, Welding, or related discipline (Required)
Strong Interest in working in manufacturing environment that welds carbon and stainless steel (Required)
Interest in becoming a Certified Welding Inspector (Preferred)
Lean Six Sigma Certification or willingness to achieve Green Belt Certification (Preferred)
Basic knowledge of identifying welding and coating defects (Preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) (Required)
Excellent communication skills, oral and written, with the ability to be proactive and clearly present recommendations and ideas and express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms (Required)
Strong analytical skills with ability to solve complex problems and use good judgment; solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions (Required)
