Industrial Engineer

Who We Are Looking For
AGCO is looking for an innovative Manufacturing Engineer to work at our Assumption, Illinois location! As the Manufacturing Engineer you will assist with process improvements within our Grain and Protein manufacturing sites and service parts warehouses to optimize use of space and resources while improving efficiency in parts delivery both internally and externally. In this role you will be a change agent, implementing world class - warehousing and material handling systems, ensuring exceptional delivery performance to farmers around the world!

What You Will Do
  • Aid in the implementation of new and current product changes by developing and supporting a Plan for Ever Part (PFEP).
  • Leads and develop efficient process flow diagrams with our warehousing and material handling departments. Develop 5S, Work Instruction and KPI with the team as well as kaizen idea submission support and problem-solving support for the warehouse / material handling departments.
  • Work to drive indirect labor cost requirements out of our processes via use of efficient layouts, implementation of effective storage methods and material handling and information processing devices. 
  • Assist operations in the identification and understanding of causes leading to: low productivity, low utilization of labor or equipment and/or missed shipments (MUDA analysis), Operator Pace Rating, and Kaizen ideas.
  • Work with cross-functional teams across plants and locations.

What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Process Engineering/Technology or related field, or eight or more years of related work experience.
  • Two or more years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience.
  • Understanding of storage systems/solutions preferred, including: vertical lift machines, automatic storage retrieval systems (ASRS), AGV/VGV systems, forklifts, and racking.
  • Understanding of warehouse, work cell and facility layout, assembly line balancing concepts and material flow analysis.
  • Working knowledge of Creo, Auto-Cad and/or Pro-E CAD software required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to be proactive and independent, taking initiative.
  • Ability to identify, analyze and provide practical solutions to ongoing process issues.
  • Ability to organize work and effectively manage a variety of projects at the same time, while meeting deadlines.
