Supervisor - Service Engineering

Overview
The Supervisor, Service Engineering manages direct reports to maintain and perform preventive maintenance of all laboratory equipment, and manages vendor relations, service contracts, and works to maintain peak efficiency.

Responsibilities
  1. Manages activities of subset team of Service Engineers.
  2. Responsible for meeting team performance objectives.
  3. Ensures the equipment training and development of direct reports.
  4. Serves as an escalation point for Service Engineers for complex and critical issues.
  5. Coordinates vendor service visits and service contracts.
  6. Ensures the training and regulatory compliance of direct reports.
  7. Lead contributor to cross-functional projects and high impact process improvements.

Qualifications
  1. Required Education/Credentials
  2. BS/BA Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar Engineering Degree
        OR

  1. 4-6 years of related experience or internal experience with Myriad lab processes or related field; 2-4 years pertinent experience.

  2. Required Experience/Skills
  3. Demonstrates understanding of science pertinent to laboratory operations.
  4. Demonstrates understanding of best practices for maintaining complex instrumentation in a regulated setting.
  5. Demonstrated leadership traits and accomplished in both internal team process improvement and cross-functional projects.

Lifting Requirements
Medium work or exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force consistently.

Physical Requirements
Stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, reaching, and repetitive motion. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions. Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions - exposure to fumes, dust, extreme temperatures, wet and/or humid, noise, vibration, mists or gases, mechanical hazards, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, and radiant energy hazards. OSHA Category I - duties performed routinely requires exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue.
