Offshore Wind Construction Graduate

Job Summary:

The graduate candidate must have a professional demeanor and previous experience with engineering design, document control systems, action tracking tools, project management support, and supporting managerial roles with agenda definitions, register tracking, and commercial processes.

Along the 2-year duration of the Graduate Program, the candidate will be required to adapt to various tasks and activities within various teams. These may include supporting the Transportation and Installation, Wind Turbine, Foundation, Construction, Marine Operations, Port Infrastructure, Engineering Design, or other Offshore Wind Packages, as assigned. Rotations within each area will be 3-6 months in duration. Throughout each rotation the candidate and managers will ensure that work quality, traceability, and best practices are applied.

This position will develop offshore construction experience over the 2-year program duration, while working rotationally through several departments. The rotations may include areas such as:

  • Offshore Overview – Work with the team to understand how offshore wind farms are evaluated, work with suppliers to conduct due diligence secessions, work with the team to understand new manufacturing locations as well as constraints associated with new suppliers.
  • WTG Installation – Work to develop detailed knowledge of the WTG package, work on technical items, work on installation modeling and practices of the project to complete various installation methods.
  • Project/Construction Management – Gain broad team understanding, understand the project management process within the packages, understand interface management process of the project to take back knowledge back to the package.
  • Port Constructions - Understand key constraints and requirements to support port activities for Transportation and Installation, work with stakeholders to understand the process and key interfaces of the work with emphasis on design, permitting and coordination with the team.

Requirements:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil preferred), Construction Management or similar area of study
  • Must be able to complete a two-year, rotational program, without any extended breaks.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in Offshore Wind, Construction, and/or Oil & Gas (preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of construction and engineering teams in a diverse community.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership to professional personnel in area of expertise.
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
  • Record and database management skills.
  • Analytical, evaluative, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Able to adjust to new environments, teams, and work in a multinational organization.
  • Ability to travel, as needed. This may include foreign travel (passport required).
  • Must have advanced proficient in English (written & spoken)
