Controls Engineer

Matrix Engineered Systems, an established and growing engineering firm, has an immediate need for an experienced full time Controls Engineer to join our team! This position is open to a trustworthy, practical and self-motivated individual.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Create hardware designs which include:
  • Power distribution
  • Industrial communication networks
  • Input/output layouts
  • Pneumatic/Water systems
  • Create PLC and HMI software designs as required per customer specification.
  • Work with customer required checklists and buyoffs.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Startup/Debug at local customer facilities, which includes:
  • Work with the internal and external team to meet integration deadlines
  • Power distribution debug
  • Communication network commissioning
  • I/O Checks
  • Fault Message debug
  • Machine operation and automatic debug
  • Outside supplier equipment integration
  • Provide leadership as necessary to internal and external team
  • Travel to end-user for final installation as required.
Technical aptitude required:
  • Industrial control systems hardware design experience
  • Experience with Eplan would be a plus
  • Various PLC experience including Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi
  • Various HMI experience including Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Ignition, Automation Direct
  • Knowledge of Safety Design, hardware and software utilizing safety relays and safety PLC
  • Experience with electrical systems, Ethernet I/P, and pneumatic/water systems
  • Exceptional communication skills
