Utilities Engineer

The Utilities Engineer is accountable for tracking, monitoring and driving Root Cause Analysis on Utilities area performance. Provides support and guidance to Utilities operators to drive safe and efficient operation and following up on environmental, remediation and sustainability actions. May, as required, support Utilities Manager in the oversight of administrative duties. Provides dotted line oversight of Utilities Operations as required. Relocation package offered.
 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Accountable for maintaining and/or improving overall site utilities infrastructure, working cross-functionally to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
• Leads and drives Utilities information systems tracking, maintenance and upkeep
• Ensures all utilities and WWTP systems and databases are maintained and updated in timely manner.
• Participates in the design, standardization and updates for utilities related policies, processes and procedures
• Provides site technical support on issues, questions and general matters related to utilities functionality
• Ensures accurate and timely reporting of utilities data to meet regulatory and corporate standards. Helps to maintain a good working relationship with local, state and federal regulators as it relates to utilities and water emissions
• Initiates, drives and/or supports Management of Change activities for the Utility function and collaborates with cross-functional teams as required to ensure all change work is accurate and documented.
• Accountable for ensuring that operators in utilities are properly trained. Collaborates with training/CI organization to maintain updated curriculum, materials and any necessary certification requirements. Follows up and provides coaching to trained individuals
• Tracks Utilities performance and Key Performance Indicators to identify improvement opportunities
• Provides support and participates in Shift, Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Annual Management Operating System meetings as required
 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 0+  years of experience in Utilities in a manufacturing environment, internship experience preferred
  • Familiar with a broad range of chemical processes and plant operations
  • Demonstrated experience with boilers, air compressors, water and steam                                       
  • Tracking and updating KPIs, information tracking systems and databases
  • Solid comprehension of chemical processes and unit operations with a focus on utilities
  • Expert in engineering principles and chemical construction practices
 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
