Engineering - Premier College Internship Program (PCIP)

The United States Air Force (USAF) provides opportunities for full-time, paid summer internships through the Premier College Internship Program (PCIP). These summer internships last 10-12 weeks and are available to current college and university sophomores and juniors. These positions have a starting annual salary range of approximately $33,319 to $37,278.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Engineering Directorate is currently seeking interns in Engineering fields spanning Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Materials, Mechanical, Systems, and more!

The PCIP allows you to work shoulder to shoulder with current Air Force Civilian Services (AFCS) employees on challenging and rewarding projects. Our Engineers provide state-of-the-art technical support for every Air Force fighter, bomber, and cargo aircraft; training system; remotely piloted aircraft; missile; and weapon currently in the USAF inventory. You will be making a real contribution to the mission of the USAF - invaluable real-world experience as you plan your future.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • U.S. CITIZENSHIP
  • Minimum 2.95 GPA on a 4.0 grading scale
  • Full-time student in Junior year (eligible the summer after Sophomore or Junior year)
  • Enrolled in an ABET-accredited Bachelor Degree Engineering program
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance (Air Force will fund the clearance)

ABILITY TO GO FURTHER:
Upon completion of the PCIP summer internship program, there is potential for a follow-on offer of a full-time position in the Palace Acquire (PAQ) developmental program. The PAQ program offers qualified Bachelor of Science graduates a well-planned, three-year development and training program. Qualified applicants with relevant Master of Science degrees may also be considered and, if selected, may be placed in a two-year on-the-job training program. A PAQ offer includes a career development plan, competitive salary, annual non-competitive promotions, student loan repayment plans, tuition reimbursement, and all the benefits Federal employees enjoy.
