Pultrusion Process Engineering Manager

Job Summary
GEOTEK, a market leader in high-performance, engineered pultruded composite structural solutions, is looking for a high-potential, highly motivated engineering manager to join our engineering team. The Pultrusion Process Engineering Manager is responsible for providing leadership to the pultrusion process engineering team as they support and continuously optimize the pultrusion production process. Leveraging existing department pultrusion expertise, the Pultrusion Process Engineering Manager will foster continuous improvement of the pultrusion process and increased productivity to support GEOTEK’s growth. Duties and Responsibilities:
o  Support GEOTEK’s operations by ensuring the pultrusion process is defined via work instructions and manufacturing standards, and manage the manufacturing engineering support of process training and technical assistance to the operations team, as directed
o  Support GEOTEK’s growth by optimizing the pultrusion process, challenging current pultrusion operating procedures and identify and propose new equipment, technologies, and processes to promote safety, quality, and productivity
o  Support design, acquisition, implementation, and maintenance of pultrusion tooling that meets production needs. Lead the development and management of tooling inspection and service requirements.
o  Conduct weekly engineering project review meetings, providing support and guidance to team members
o  Scope and delegate engineering projects that support and improve safety, quality, and productivity in the pultrusion department
o  Ensure alignment with operations team by maintaining open and frequent communication with operations manager and supervisors
o  Work cross functionality to manage the manufacturing engineering support of pultrusion production quality, equipment readiness, new product development, and cost reduction/supply chain risk mitigation, as directed
o  Research, propose, and implement capital expenditure projects
o  Support growth of team members by providing guidance through increasingly challenging tasks, while providing feedback to team members on performance
o  Ensure team members maintain clear, complete, and accurate records for project documentation
o  Maintain and promote a clean and organized work space

Job Requirements
o  Four year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, chemical, or composites preferred); Min. GPA: 3.5/4.0
o  5-10 years of professional experience working in a manufacturing environment, with recent leadership/management and composites/pultrusion experience strongly preferred
o  Must be an energetic and hands-on problem solver, self-motivated, self-starting, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly, while concurrently supporting other team members on their assignments
o  Capable of working from a vision, from which they can independently develop actionable tasks and projects, and effectively delegate to others in a team environment
o  Professional and concise communication and verbal skills are essential. Ability to work with different levels of staff from line workers to managers throughout the organization is highly desirable
o  Familiarity with common thermoset resin systems, including polyester, vinyl-ester, and urethane is highly desirable. Familiarity with common manufacturing tooling design and development is desirable
o  Excellent communication skills (written and oral) is essential, including ability to develop and deliver the intended message efficiently. Ability to work with different levels of staff from line workers to executives throughout the organization is highly desirable
o  Experience with 3D modeling using SolidWorks of parts, assemblies, and drawings with GD&T per ANSI Y14.5; Formal GD&T training is desirable
o  Experience with MS Office
o  Detail oriented and organized to ensure accuracy and quality
o  Ability to manage the support of occasional off-shift trials and production support requests, as required
o  Must be able to stand, lift, use manual tools, and power tools
o  Must adhere to all corporate policies and procedures
o  Must remain flexible as priorities changes
 
Physical Work Conditions
Time should be split between the floor and the office or meeting rooms ranging anywhere from 10% to 30% on the production floor or engineering labs. While working on the floor there will be work with and around moving machinery, fumes and chemicals. Office work requires sitting at a desk, using a computer and phone.
