Systems Calibration Engineer (Recent College Grad)

IAV is currently seeking two Entry-Level- System Calibration Engineer at our North American Headquarters in Northville, Michigan.

Entry level position(s) that works closely with supervisor and team members. Position requires a willingness to learn on the job and develop professional and interpersonal skills. Flexibility is a must and travel may be required.

Essential Functions for Systems Calibration Engineer:
  • Ensures the quality of planning and execution of engineering activities
  • Works on all phases or aspects of projects such as preparation of specifications, technical planning, engine testing, data analysis and validation
  • Deliver base system calibration that meets performance and fuel economy objectives
  • Develop, test and release calibrations to meet durability requirements
  • Participate in prototype development and testing, including test drives to ensure optimal software/hardware calibration
  • Complete development and sign-off testing under all operating conditions, including base, temperature extremes, high altitude function and other application specific operating modes
  • Support root cause analysis and error correction of system-level problems relating to software and electronic control issues
  • Ensures data and technical project report quality
  • Review project work for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer requirements and regulatory standards.

Essential Qualifications for Systems Calibration:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required plus 2 years related experience.
  • Able to use MATLAB/ Simulink for data analysis and model generation
  • Ensure data and technical project report quality
  • Support customer meetings
  • Knowledge of the following areas: Fundamentals of combustion and the influence of hardware design (turbo, FIE, power cylinder, EGR, cooling, etc) Advanced calibration methodology and model based development
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle legally in the United States and also have a reliable means of transportation; may be required to drive personal vehicle independently to the different IAV locations and customer locations.
