Chemical Process Engineer Intern
About the Job
Work within the Engineering team to address issues associated with the proper operation of the manufacturing facility. Interface with Chemistry and Engineering teams to transition bench scale processes to pilot production.
What you will be tasked with
- Utilize chemical engineering principles to assist with the design and testing of new process equipment including reactors, distillation columns, sublimation systems, and heat exchangers.
- Work with chemists to troubleshoot existing manufacturing processes and recommend improvements
- Participate in root cause analysis
- Analyze analytical and in-process data to support statistical process control initiatives
- Make recommendations to improve chemical processes
- Identify unsafe conditions and correct them while notifying supervisor
Traits that make a strong candidate for this role:
- Desire to design and improve chemical processes
- Pursuing B.S. in Chemical Engineering
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to gain respirator certification and wear proper PPE as required;
- Ability to understand and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization
- Exhibited strong safety culture and drive to improve
Internship details:
- Considered candidates with a legal employment status in the US
- 10-12-week program starts early June 2022
