Mechanical Engineer Intern

Job Responsibilities


As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for mechanical design of communication electronics products and test fixtures, from conceptual design and analysis through transition to production, for defense and commercial applications. You will create solid models, analyze to meet requirements and associated environments, and perform mechanical testing for design validation.

Requirements


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Previous experience or exposure to standard industry CAD software
  • Previous experience with SolidWorks and/or SolidEdge
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard drafting practices
  • Ability to commit to a 10-12 week summer internship.

Preferences


  • Currently pursuing a Master's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Previous internship experience in the space industry
  • Previous experience using GD&T
  • Previous experience using Ansys Mechanical
  • Geometric Design & Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge
  • Working knowledge of metal fabrication processes, especially machining, casting, welding, and sheet forming processes
