People Specialist


About the Role:
As a People Specialist, you will provide support in all aspects of Total Rewards including payroll, employee benefits and leave administration. The People Specialist will be involved in highly sensitive matters that require skills in gaining trust and confidence from employees to provide top tier customer service support.
What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Serve as a backup to processing biweekly and semimonthly payroll (ADP)
  • Performs audit before payrolls are released and distributes reporting internally       
  • Responsible for onboarding new hires into ADP 
  • Works closely with employees to answer and interpret various payroll laws, rules, and policies and procedures
  • Responsible for benefits including open enrollment and 401(k) administration in addition to preparing eligibility notices, tracking and assisting with enrollment 
  • Process leave administration, workers comp, short-term disability, and unemployment requests 
  • Responds to employment verifications as needed
  • Ensures accurate submission of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Affordable Care Act (ACA), and Form 5500 reporting
  • Provides support for HR programs such as new hire orientation, employment engagement survey, and more
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field desired or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of payroll experience in a mid-sized company; ADP experience is a plus.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Google Suite products are required.
  • Knowledge of current approaches to using HR technology to solve business problems.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with functional clients.
