Our Supply Chain team members are high-caliber, self-motivated, and focused professionals with a passion for building relationships, negotiating, and ensuring high quality standards for our customers pushing toward scientific breakthroughs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in using their skills to:
- Use sound and ethical negotiation and analysis skills to reduce overall costs
- Perform activities involved with accurately procuring services and goods such as raw materials, equipment, tools, manufacturing supplies
- Perform purchasing functions including preparation of purchase orders and change orders
- Executes policies, procedures, and objectives for the operation of the purchasing department in accordance with corporate objectives and strategic plan
- Ensures the necessary purchases are made at lowest total cost consistent with approved quality and delivery standards.
This position on our Supply Chain team will help us efficiently and consistently ensure the quality of our products which serve a broad range of applications including those in aerospace, scientific, and industrial markets to help advance the state of science that benefits mankind, as this is Lake Shore's mission.
Qualified candidates will possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Materials Management, or Logistics
- Demonstrated impactful experience in Purchasing/Procurement and/or Materials Management-related filed with a preference towards high volume manufacturing related industries
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data analysis
- Applied understanding of RFQ processes and commodity support
